Writing
At Otley All Saints C.E Primary School, we aim for our children to become passionate, competent and creative writers. We recognise that the ability to write with confidence and accuracy is a tool which will support a child through life. For this reason, writing features across our curriculum, ensuring children experience a wide variety of reasons to write as well as a range of intended audiences.

We provide our children with exciting and engaging stimuli to inspire quality writing; a diverse range of books, film clips, drama, experiences, visitors and imagery are just some of the ways we achieve this. We complement these ‘hooks’ with detailed class discussion to ensure our children have a plethora of ideas ready for putting pen to paper. We also place a great value on the importance of reading and its direct correlation to becoming a successful writer.
